BVNW 6 - 1- Olathe South

Goals: Chris Colle (Dylan Colle) Dylan Colle (Chris Colle) Chris Colle (Dylan Colle) Chris Colle (Will Vancrum) Ryan Russell (Dylan Colle) Will Vancrum (Andrew Allen)

In the opening round of regional play, the boys came out and crushed the hopes and dreams of OS from the very beginning.  The Colle brothers teammed up and each scored in the first 3 minutes of play to take a commanding lead.  Just seconds later, an unlucky bounce found OS with a PK, but Owen Malis came up big to keep OS on their heals.  OS managed an organized attack which allowed them to pull the score to a goal down, but the boys answered seconds later when Dylan found Chris (again) to take the 3-1 lead before halftime.  The second half continued like the first when Will attacked the endlind and found Chris in the box who sealed the hat trick.  Dylan finished his hat trick of assists when he served a corner to Ryan who burried a header for his first varsity goal.  Will rounded out the scoring finishing a corner from Andrew to finish off the game.

BVNW 3 - 2 Mill Valley

Goals: Aiden Knauth, Dylan Colle, and Luke Rahto

In the final game of conference play and our last regular season game, the weather was very cold and dreary.  The boys managed to battle through tough conditions and tired legs to get the W in a game where they only lead in the final minutes of the match.  MV scored first and Aiden tied up the game.  MV found the net early in the second and lead until Dylan tied up the game again.  Late in the game, Luke got the game winning goal and the boys defended well to hold onto the win.

BVNW 1 - 1 BVSW

Goal: Andrew Mitchell (Jackson Million)

SW came out strong in the first half with lots of high pressure and on a quick counter found the back of the net early in the game.  The boys battled back and settled into the game when Jackson put on a show by blowing by 4 SW defenders and rocketed a shot.  The keeper was able to get his hands on the shot but Andrew was waiting on the back post to put tying goal in the net.  The remainder of the game and both OTs were back and forth.  Both teams hit the goal posts or crossbar a few times but the game ultimately ended in a tie.

BVNW 2 - 0 Chaminade

Goals: Will Vancrum (Jackson Million) Dylan Colle (Jackon Million)

Shutout: Owen Malis

In the second and final game of the shootout in Jeff City, we played a very organized Chaminade team.  We found our rhythm early and had many chances in the first half.  Our defense pushed high and allowed us to stifle most of their offense.  Midway through the second half, Jackson's corner found Will waiting on the back post who gave us the lead.  A few minutes later, Jackson found Dylan flying across the field for a breakaway that Dylan buried to solidify the lead and gave Jackson the hat trick of assists on the weekend.

BVNW 1 - 0 Jefferson City

Goal: Will Vancrum (Jackson Million)

Shutout: Owen Malis

We traveled to Jefferson City to play in a great tournament on a gorgeous fall weekend.  The ground was very hard and took some time to adjust but we managed to settle down in the second half and dominate the game.  Dylan and Jackson had nice combination play that went up the field and Jackson found will who put the ball in the net.  Our defense was able to shut down track down their speed up top and we came away with the shutout!

BVNW 3 - 0 Olathe South

Goals: Chris Colle (Jackson Million) Chris Colle (Dylan Colle) Dylan Colle (Aiden Knauth)

Shutout: Owen Malis

The boys came out ready to set the tone on a chilly, windy evening at the ODAC.  We started off strong with many chances on goal in the first 10 minutes.  We settled in and contained very well as well as had most of the possession.  OS countered quickly but our defense was organized and was able to shut down their attacks.  Last in the first half, Jackson played a great ball to Chris who found the back of the net while getting hammered by the keeper.  In the first minute of the second, the brothers connected up top when Dylan played a through ball to Chris who buried his second goal for the night.  Dylan rounded out the Colle hat trick when Aiden laid the ball off to him and he bent the ball around the keeper into the side net.

BVNW 2 - 3 Bishop Miege

Goals: Dylan Colle (Chris Colle) Will Vancrum (Jackson Million)

The game against Miege did not start as we hoped.  Miege came ready to play and scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the game.  Chris found Dylan late in the first half to put us back on the board making us only down 2-1 at the half.  Late in the second half, Jackson attacked the endline and found Will waiting in the box to tie the game.  Miege responded right away, scoring to take the lead less than 2 minutes later.

BVNW 0 - 0 SLU High

Shutout: Gavin Biancalana

At the end of a big week, we took on SLU High hoping to round out the week playing well.  We moved the ball well and had chances on the net.  SLU was very organized and had good build up that we defended well against.  Gavin had another great game for us in the net and the defense held well to keep the shutout.  We had some close chances at the end of the game, even a ball in the net that was called back.  The boys battled hard and even though we didn't get the win, we played well and fought hard.

BVNW 2 - 2 BVW

Goals: Will Vancrum (Dylan Colle) Chris Colle - PK (Will Vancrum)

West came out ready to play and found the net early with counter attacks scoring two goals in the first half.  We possessed the ball well but were unable to connect consistently in the final third and put away chances.  Second half started off strong when Dylan played a great through ball that Will hunted down and put away.  Late in the second half, Will was taken down in the box and Chris put away the PK.  We battled hard into overtimes with great possession and chances, but were unable to finish with the win.

BVNW 1 - 2 BV High

Goal: Ethan Knauth

It proved to be a tough night when BV played a disciplined game against us, controlled the speed of the game and countered quickly.  BV took the lead midway through the first half when we fouled on a quick counter and they put away the free kick.  We battled back in the second half and we created a scramble in the box and Ethan fired a rocket into the back of the net.  BV responded quickly with a counter and a free kick that eventually led to them taking the lead and winning the game.

BVNW 1 - 0 Rockhurst

Goal: Will Vancrum (Jackson Million)

Shutout: Gavin Biancalana

We took the field against Rockhurst to take on our 3rd Catholic school in a row.  The first half was back and forth with both teams possessing and missing chances.  The boys came out hard in the second half and took the lead 3 minutes into the half.  We out worked and possessed very well and took Rockhurst out of their game.  We played great defense and Gavin had a huge night for us in the to record the shutout and our first win over Rockhurst in 4 years!

BVNW 4 - 1 St. James

Goals: Jackson Million (Will Vancrum) John Fischbach (Will Vancrum) Aiden Knauth (Will Vancrum) Jackson Million (Sam Stecher)

After a tough loss and feeling we didn't play up to our potential against Aquinas, the boys came out working hard against St. James.  We possessed and moved the ball well but struggled to find the net.  St. James worked hard off a miss played ball in the back and took the lead.  The second half continued like the first where we were out working and had the possession but couldn't put the ball in the net.  After 65 minutes of work, we blew the net open and scored 4 goals in 12 minutes!

BVNW 0 - 1 Aquinas

As league play continued, we headed to Aquinas to play on their turf on a rainy evening.  We possessed the ball well and our defense played outstanding and defending Aquinas' strong counter attacks very well.  We challenged well in the air and worked hard to settle the ball and play our game in the 1st half.  Aquinas came at us hard in the 2nd and we defended very well until 12 minutes left in the game where an Aquinas forward won a foot race and his teammate put the ball away.

BVNW 7 - 0 Wichita North

Goals: Will Vancrum (Daniel Li) Jackson Million (Sam Stecher) Dylan Colle (PK created by Andrew Mitchell) Aiden Knauth (Sammy Brewer) Luke Rahto John Fischbach (Dylan Colle) Dylan Colle

Shutout: Owen Malis

In the 3rd place match of the Fat Cat Tournament, the boys came out swinging!  We had 2 nice goals in the first half from Will and Jackson that both came from nice through balls from Daniel and Sam.  The boys blew the roof off the game by racking in the goals in the second half, including a nice cross by Sammy and a finish from Aiden that earned the boys cookies as well as John getting his first varsity goal!

BVNW 2 - 3 BVW

Goals: Andrew Mitchell (Charlie Rauter) Will Vancrum

In the semi-final game of the Fat Cat Tournament, we found ourselves against a very organized West team.  The game was a battle of possession and we had chances we couldn't put away.  West was up 2-0 at halftime, one of which was a PK.  Within minutes of the second half starting, Charlie played a ball into Andrew who got behind the defense and put the ball away and get us back in the game.  We continued to battle but West was able to slip ahead with other PK.  Will took over with a ball on the 18 and created a goal himself by getting by defenders and hitting side netting.  Not the result we wanted, but we are looking forward to playing them again later this season!

BVNW 4 – 2 JC Harmon

Goals: Dylan Colle (Sam Stecher) Jackson Million (Ethan Knauth) Will Vancrum (Dylan Colle) Andrew Mitchell (Sam Stecher)

The first round of the Fat Cat tournament started similar to our first game.  The boys possessed well in the first half and we started off with early goals from Dylan and Jackson.  Harmon worked their way back into the game, scoring off a quick counter and a PK.  The boys battled hard in the second and worked their way into the lead despite being a man down.  Will gave us the lead and Andrew sealed the deal with his first varsity goal!

BVNW 1 – 0 BVN

Goal: Sam Stecher (Dylan Colle)

Shutout: Owen Malis

The home opener of the season did not disappoint once again.  It was a beautiful evening and the stands were packed.  The boys came out swinging and we missed some chances early.  We were able to control a majority of the possession but it was North’s quick counters with their blazing speed that kept us on our toes.  Late in the 1st half, Dylan attacked the left side of the field and put a ball across the box.  The keeper was able to get a piece of it but Sam was waiting out the back post and buried it!  The 2nd half continued like the 1st with us controlling most of the game but North would come fast and hard.  As always, this opening victory was something special.
